A man who bought a Tesla electric car shared how much he saved on gasoline in just one year.

While many people fear that electricity bills might rise too much to charge an electric vehicle, these costs apparently remain much lower than potential spending on gasoline.

This was revealed by YouTuber EV Kiwis, who showed how much he saved on fuel in just one year driving a Tesla electric car.

He explained that in one year, he drove 13,256 km and did almost half of the total charging at home, with 93% of it done outside peak hours.

At the time he made his calculations, in 2022, this represented an annual cost of just $170 charging the car at home, a little over $14 per month for charging.

After being shocked by the result, he added that before getting his Tesla, he spent about $41 per month on fuel.

Regarding the amount spent using public chargers, he spent approximately $114 over 12 months, bringing the total to $285.

Meanwhile, EV Kiwis would have spent the equivalent of $1,900 to buy 1,233 liters of gasoline, which would have allowed him to drive the same 13,256 km.
